The BBMP along with the State Election Commission organised an event as part of a campaign to create awareness among young voters, at the Central College auditorium on Tuesday 18th Aug 2015. Mrs K Lakshmi Lecturer Department of Economics attended the same along with two students Farheen Taj S and Ayesha Tabassum of II B Com . Videos were screened at the end of session indicated that the campaign “ Together We Vote” was the success with the college going crowd which focused on the importance of Voting and the need to be proactive Today 19th August 2015 student awareness program was held in our campus Madam Lakshmi and Farheen Taj S student of II B COM shared their thoughts created voter awareness amongst students and urged them to force their parents, neighbours and siblings to vote for a clean ,green and safe Bangalore . 69th Independence day was celebrated in the campus. Mr Tafazzul Ahmed social worker unfurled the tricolor accepting guard of Honor presented by NSS Volunteers followed by National Anthem . Cultural programmes were organized, students rendered patriotic song followed by speeches offering felicitations to the Indian Armed Forces for the commendable work done by them in protecting the country from internal and external dangers.that awakened every one’s feeling towards our motherland. Seven colors of the rainbow and what each one represents: Red– This is the first color of the rainbow from top. Red signifies passion, vitality, enthusiasm and security. It is the light with the longest wavelength. Orange– This light or color is a combination of yellow and red. It is a dynamic color representing creativity, practicality, playfulness as well as equilibrium or control. Yellow– This is the color of the sunshine itself. It represents clarity of thought, wisdom, orderliness and energy. Green– This is the middle color of the rainbow and denotes fertility, growth, balance, health and wealth. Blue– This the fifth color of the rainbow which makes us think of the Unknown. The sky and the wide oceans are in this color and hence it has been associated with Spirituality and Divinity. The NSS unit of our college formally inaugurated its activities today (August 8th 2015). The Chief Guest for the function was Professor Khalida Nishat Parveen vice Principal and HOD of Sociology and Ex- NSS Officer Abbas Khan College for Women. Chief guest in her powerful message urged the students to take active role in NSS programmes for a better tomorrow and on their role in nation building , provided effective instructions and guidance to NSS volunteers to attain the goal of National Service Scheme, appreciated all NSS volunteers who have shown concern towards helping people , relived memories of her college days and said that Time Once Lost will never come back, when a chance is given do the best to the society for a better tomorrow .
